Scott is a Founding Partner and Wealth Advisor at Kanai Wealth Management Group, and he believes in a client centered approach. This begins with a discussion of goals, a review of current accounts, impartial recommendations, and ends with a tailored financial plan. Scott focuses on a positive client experience throughout the relationship. A client once told him that “your team takes a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, without a picture, and puts it together to bring clarity to my family’s financial life”. His goal is to make the complex simple, and he takes great pride in the guidance he provides to his clients.

His interest in investments and financial planning began during college. Scott graduated from Kalamazoo College with a BA in Economics & Business Administration and a minor in Physical Education and Coaching. He also earned his Secondary Teaching Certificate but chose to “teach” families one-on-one about financial planning by becoming a financial advisor. Scott became a financial advisor in 1990 and has earned the Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 registrations. He has previously been recognized as a top advisor for LPL Financial and is a member of the Investments and Wealth Institute, Financial Services Institute (FSI) and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of work, Scott has a passion for youth sports. He volunteered to help organize, run and coach in the local little league softball program and also coached his daughter’s travel softball team for 8 years. Over 20 of his former players have gone on to play collegiate softball at the Division I, II and III levels. Scott is a native of Colorado and an avid sports fan. He is loyal to the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets, and Colorado Avalanche. He is a former Finance Committee volunteer leader for Northlawn United Methodist Church. Scott currently resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wonderful wife, Chris, and their two beautiful daughters. He enjoys spending time with family, being active (golf, basketball, skiing) and traveling.
